Shell to Sign Historic Agreement with
American Seafaring Union to Hire
U.S. Officers For LNG Vessels

WHO: Mr. Richard Mellor, General Manager for Shell Ship Management Limited, on behalf of Shell, will sign a pioneering Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Tom Bethel, National President, American Maritime Officers Union (AMO).

WHAT: The signing of an unprecedented LNG tanker crewing memorandum. Under the terms of the MOU, qualified AMO officers, deck and engine, will begin to be recruited to work aboard Shell’s managed international liquefied natural gas (LNG) fleet, including 25 new vessels being delivered within the next two years.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 30, 2008, 11:00 a.m.

WHERE: The signing will take place at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Media Center, First Floor (off the inner courtyard), U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, D.C.
